PROJECT PAGE: Global Environmental Governance
Many of the most pressing environmental challenges demand actions beyond the scope of any single organization or jurisdiction, and in fact, environmental governance is frequently characterized by the involvement of multiple public, private, community, and/or non-profit interests. Projects under this theme examine the history and production of environmental challenges understood today as global and/or cross-jurisdictional (e.g., CO2 emissions, marine conservation in the high seas), and explore how various organizations and actors pursue goals and objectives through specific  governance initiatives and arrangements (e.g., 'climate smart agriculture', large MPAs). This work is often 'multi-sited' because we aim to weave together data and perspectives gathered in places and spaces from the local through to international.
